Squirrels really enjoyed showing their skills of chopping, slicing, mashing, peeling and grating. The children all showed great confidence and followed safety rules when preparing food.

Squirrels Animal parts using merge cubes
Squirrels really enjoyed using the merge cubes to learn about parts of animals. They looked at differences and similarities between reptiles, mammals, invertebrates, birds, amphibians and fish.
Pop art
In art this week Squirrels have explored pop art in the style of James Rizzi. They created their own pop art using cardboard layering technique. Their pictures really did POP!
Squirrels weather watching
This week Squirrels have blown me away with their discussions on the weather. They were very excited to observe hail yesterday and recalled our learning from term 3. They were able to tell me that hail is frozen rain drops.
Happy birthday Sir David Attenborough!
Squirrels class have had an amazing day celebrating Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday. The children really enjoyed dressing up and learning about his life through different activities Such as listening to his voice over on one of his programmes and reading about his life in the Little People Big Dreams book.
Squirrels vegetable garden
Squirrels really enjoyed planting some vegetable seeds into our vegetable patch. We have labelled the vegetable so we know what we have grown and we will observe this over time.
Squirrels garden
As part of our science topic this term we have been observing and learning about plants. We are observing a daffodil over time and have planted some plants in our garden. We have also planted our very own sunflower seed and will use our maths skills of measuring to watch this change over time.
World Book Day!
Squirrels had an amazing world book day. The children had a go at some activities such as creating their favourite book cover and sharing books with friends and year 4. They really enjoyed sharing their costumes with everyone.
London landmarks on the VR’s
Squirrels have had a great afternoon learning about London landmarks using the VR’s. The children were very excited to see the landmarks up close and explore the capital city from our classroom.
