Year 6 residential
What a fantastic time we had on the Year 6 residential!
Beaks
Bear class used different tools to pick up a variety of food types to see which worked best. We used this to think about the shape of birds beaks and why they have evolved differently.
Ramsgate tunnels and Spitfire museum
Year 6 had a fantastic day today at the Ramsgate tunnels and Spitfire museum. We learnt lots about life in WW2 in our local area.
Science
We began our new science topic of the term, by learning about classification. We grouped the aliens we drew by different features. We all had different ideas about which features we could use!
Bears
We have had a busy and successful term. We have learnt all about WW1, investigated light, planted wildflower seeds and other plants for nature for David Attenborough day, had a blast in JagTag, practiced our sewing, finished SATs and started work on our production. Phew!
Presentation Time!
Today we had to present our work on Antarctica to Mr Martin! It was great to show our work to someone outside of Bears and we enjoyed the experience.
Bridges
We investigated bridges this week, looking at what strengthens a bridge. We worked in Teams to support each other with this investigation.
Inuit Art!
This afternoon we started our Inuit art project – we started with soap carving and then used stencils to create different animals! We can’t wait to create our final pieces.
Checking voltage!
In Science this week, we tested the voltage of different batteries using a voltmeter. We found some interesting results!
Environmental Art!
We made some amazing pieces of environmental art this week! We used recycling to create art that highlighted an issue in the environment and were so imaginative!
