How we communicate
We use a parent communication app called Weduc as the primary method of communication with our parents.
We use Weduc to:
- Send and receive messages (which parents receive as app notifications)
- Share letters and newsletters
- Share key dates on our calendar
- Share what’s been going on at the school in our newsfeed
- Share useful links in ‘The Hub’
We have thought carefully about our school uniform and have chosen it to be comfortable and practical for primary aged children whilst also being affordable for families. Our sweatshirt/cardigan is the only piece of school uniform where it is important that the School logo is present.
We offer a balanced and nutritious school meals menu where children are encouraged to try a variety of new foods.
Wrap around care
We recognise the importance of providing childcare options to assist working parents.
Water Meadows is open from 7:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday.
As well as our Breakfast Club and After School Club, we offer a range of free Extra-Curricular Clubs every term that children can take part in after school.
Timings of the school day/term dates
Over a school year, pupils are required to attend school for 190 days. Children do not come into school on Staff Development Days or Bank Holidays.
Water Meadows Primary School is open from 7.30am – 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
Compulsory times for children are 8.45am – 3.15pm which equates to 6 hours 30 minutes a day, or 32.5 hours per week.

Parent Support Advisor
We have an in-school PSA who can support parents both practically and emotionally with any issues they may have regarding their children and/or school.
Emotional Wellbeing Team
At Water Meadows we have support from a member of the Canterbury and Coastal Emotional Wellbeing Team who is from a team of four Emotional Wellbeing Practitioners, employed by our local NHS trust. Their role has a variety of aspects, and there are different ways they can offer support to the school.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Parent Intervention (1:1 or Group Sessions) for Child Anxiety or Child Behaviour
- Parent Workshops
- Staff Training
Further information about the Emotional Wellbeing service for current parents can be found on the ‘Wellbeing’ tab on ‘The Hub’ on Weduc.
